What is the HMD RxCard?
The HMD RxCard is a FREE pharmacy prescription discount program courtesy of Health Matrix Direct. The card comes pre-activated and is ready to use immediately. Users can save up to 80% on virtually every prescription medication at over 61,000 pharmacies nationwide. There are absolutely no enrollment or application fees, and no medical insurance required or claims to file.
How do I get a discount?
Present your HMD RxCard along with your prescription to the pharmacist and once the card information has been inputted by the pharmacist, each time you return to the pharmacy, you will be eligible to get a discount. Discount amounts vary per specific prescription and savings can be as high as 80% off retail prescriptions. If the pharmacist isn't familiar with our prescription medication discount program, please have them call 1-866-921-7284. Our pharmacist helpline is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and will assist your pharmacist with the process.
Where do these discounts come from?
HMD is aligned with Argus PharmaGroup, a leading pharmacy benefit manager, which has negotiated discounted rates on medications with pharmaceutical companies and retail pharmacies.
Is this Insurance?
The HMD RxCard program relieves users from the continually rising costs of prescription medications and is designed to complement medical insurance. This program is not medical insurance nor a Discount Medical Program, however this program does benefit ALL USERS: the uninsured, the underinsured, and those with comprehensive medical insurance. This card can be used for those who don't have insurance, or anyone purchasing medication that's either not covered under their insurance or whose co-pay is higher than the discount card price.
Does the card count toward my insurance deductible?
The HMD RxCard program will SOMETIMES count towards a deductible. As not all medical insurance plans are the same, HMD recommends users to contact their plan administrator to get the specific information regarding their medical insurance plan.
Important note for Medicare users
Although this discount can be used as a Medicare Part D supplement by covering drugs once participants reach the "donut hole," drugs purchased with this discount program will not count toward your Medicare deductible and therefore will not allow you to exceed your deductible and get out of the "donut hole." We suggest you contact your plan administrator to get the specifics, because not all plans are the same.
Is my privacy protected?
HMD is prohibited by law from obtaining or selling any personal information including name, address, or prescription information of members who use the HMD RxCard. We respect your privacy and we will never share your personal information with a third party.
